May 2024 release webinar, Inspera introduced several key enhancements designed to optimize the assessment experience for both educators and students. One of the major updates is the decimal separator change, which standardizes the display of decimal points across the platform. This change, set to be generally available in September, can be activated earlier upon request. It simplifies reporting and ensures consistency, making it easier for educators and administrators to manage numerical data in assessments.

Inspera Originality also received a significant update with the addition of Swedish language support. This feature enhances accessibility for Swedish-speaking users, allowing for more accurate and efficient plagiarism detection in the platform. It joins the growing list of supported languages, making the tool more versatile for global institutions.

Accessibility continues to be a priority in this release, with notable improvements including the introduction of keyboard navigation for flagging questions. This update enhances the user experience for individuals relying on assistive technologies, ensuring smoother navigation during assessments. Another accessibility enhancement is the question navigation feature, which provides better control for users to move between questions using keyboard shortcuts, improving the experience for all users.

The release also previewed upcoming features in development, providing insight into the direction Inspera is headed. These include improved Moodle integration, which will facilitate the importation of numerical simulation questions from the Stack plugin, and the ability for students to submit multiple attempts for manually graded assessments, such as essays or file uploads. These updates aim to provide more flexibility for both educators and students, supporting iterative learning and more personalized feedback.

Another key feature is the upgrade to the data backbone, which will provide institutions with enhanced reporting capabilities. This update allows users to create custom visualizations and reports, giving institutions greater control over how they analyze and interpret assessment data.

Inspera Originality also continues to expand its functionality with better LMS integration, now supporting platforms such as Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, D2L, and Sakai. This integration ensures that plagiarism detection works seamlessly within these platforms, with support for 30 languages.

Finally, grading configurations have been refined, offering more flexibility in how educators can set grading thresholds and manage grading workflows. This update streamlines the grading process, making it easier to handle large volumes of assessments, especially during peak periods.

As always, participants were encouraged to review the release notes available in the help center, as they provide further details not covered in the webinar. They were also reminded to submit feedback and suggestions for future features, helping Inspera continue to evolve and meet the needs of its user community.
