INSPERA GRAIDE
Graide supports you by harnessing the power of AI assessment, streamlining the grading process and generating tailored feedback for every learner.
Grading workload reduces by up to 90%, your marking team’s judgment is applied consistently across every cohort, and every student receives more detailed feedback than before.
Graide supports you by harnessing the power of AI assessment, streamlining the grading process and generating tailored feedback for every learner.
Grading time per script decreases from 11.2 minutes to 1.2 minutes on average.
Feedback per script increases from 23 to 166 words, written by your educators, applied by Inspera Graide’s custom Classification AI.
The platform adapts to your grading preferences, learning from your educators to improve with every use.
The AI streamlines the process by handling repetition, it does not replace the educator behind it.
What our clients say
“The whole process from start to finish becomes much more efficient. Not just from the point of view of being able to mark quicker, but it allows
you then to give more detail in the marking because you’ve got that time to be able to do that. It’s a real improvement on the whole marking experience.”
Dr Carl Anthony, Senior Lecturer

Graide is a classification AI-powered marking capability that learns how educators mark, then suggests marks and feedback across all of the submissions in a single assessment.
Classification AI sorts inputs into predefined categories. Unlike generative AI, it does not generate new content, it does not access external data and it does not use open-access LLMs.
Instead, Inspera Graide uses the feedback written by the human marker as its data to apply that across all submissions making it transparent and traceable. It produces the same output for the same input, each time.
Inspera Graide works with short answer questions, essays, mathematical equations and expressions, and multiple choice questions.
The classification AI compares each student response against patterns learned from human-marked examples for that question, looking at key terms, concepts, and phrasing. It will start to make suggestions across the submissions from as few as 5 completed human-marked submissions. Importantly, the educator reviews and confirms or overrides each classification AI suggestion before it counts.
The classification AI builds a model per question using only that institution’s marking data. It learns the educator’s approach to content, structure, coherence, and argument quality. Essay marking reaches up to 99% accuracy against human marking benchmarks with appropriate confidence thresholds.
Suggestions typically start appearing after 10 to 20 human-marked submissions, depending on essay length and answer variance. No grade is issued without the educator reviewing and confirming the suggestion.
Yes. The more submissions marked consistently against the mark scheme, the more accurate the model becomes. Reviewed and approved suggestions are used to retrain and update the model within the platform. The model is specific to each question, so accuracy improves as that question accumulates more marked data.

Initially, Inspera Graide will be available as marking tool that you can integrate with your LMS via LTI. We have integrated Inspera Originality with Inspera Graide so that you can build academic integrity into your classification AI journey.
We are working on integrating Inspera Graide with Inspera Assessment and our powerful new grading workflows capabilities.
Lots. Every AI suggestion must be accepted or rejected by an educator. Nothing is automatic. Educators can override any AI-suggested grade at any point. A moderation workflow lets a second reviewer check marked work before it is released. Feedback only reaches students when the institution decides it is ready. Inspera Graide is built so that educators remain accountable for every grade. The AI makes suggestions; the educator decides.
The AI model is built exclusively from the institution’s own marked data, so it reflects that institution’s marking standards, not an external model’s biases. Every action in the platform is logged with a timestamp and user ID. The AI’s decisions trace back to specific features in the student’s response, making them explainable and challengeable.
Yes, Inspera Graide meets WCAG 2.2 AA standards. Staff can adjust page layouts within the marking interface, for example changing the ratio of the feedback panel to the student answer view.
