Students continue working completely uninterrupted during network drops. During this time, all of their work is stored locally on their device and if their network comes back, is automatically uploaded in the background. If a candidate remains offline at the point of submission, the platform prompts them to download their exam as an encrypted, Inspera-only file containing all responses and metadata. An administrator can then upload this file with a system guarantee that prevents uploading a file to the wrong student profile.
This capability eliminates the risk of student data loss and structural exam failure. A simple offline workflow with data integrity guardrails means the data recovery process is seamless. The institution protects the student experience, while preventing the substantial administrative costs associated with handling special circumstances applications or organising emergency resits.
Inspera Integrity Browser
Our proprietary non-open source locked down browser runs as a desktop application, not a browser extension. It’s not dependent on an internet connection to function and even without access to the internet, will keep doing it’s job of preventing student access to the rest of the device on which it is running, save for resources that you specifically permit.

Inspera Resilience Proctoring
Inspera Resilience Proctoring only requires an active internet connection at the start of the exam. If the candidate’s network connection fails intermittently or permanently during the session, video and audio recording continues locally on the device without stopping the exam. If the connection remains unavailable at the end of the exam, access to the exam closes as scheduled, and the encrypted data is safely cached within the running browser until the candidate locates an alternative connection to complete the upload.
